The Mound of Papiliakalniai
a thousand years old cultural monument with steep 22 meters high slopes. The northern side of the mound’s platform has a trench dug during the Second World War. The eastern side has a monument for the German soldiers of the 131st Infantry Division’s 432nd Infantry Regiment who died here in October 1944. Beautiful landscapes can be seen through the openings in the pine trees that cover a large part of the mound.
