The Old Town of Kalvarija
A nationally protected urban monument formed in the seventeenth-twentieth centuries. It obtained its current view in the nineteenth century when it was arranged according to the 1892 plan. The streets of the Old Town harmoniously merge with the hilly and rugged terrain. There is a square of a unique complex shape at the intersection of five main streets. The Old Town is dominated by one to three storeys wooden and brick houses build in the nineteenth-twentieth centuries.
