Goniądz is a small town by the Biebrza, in the centre of Podlaskie Voivodeship. Beautiful, with numerous charming sites and completely unexplored. It is situated on a high escarpment, which offers a wonderful panorama of the Biebrza backwaters. It is located right in the centre of the swampy land and is an excellent starting point for exploring the nearby wild area.
The town can boast over 450 years of rich tradition. The area is full of charming sites, unique places. Here you can forget about the hustle and bustle of city, rest from the dizzying pace and stress of everyday life. Gmina Goniądz is a good place for a walk in the forest and blooming meadows. It is a good place for observing birds, picking berries and mushrooms, romantic evenings by the Biebrza, sitting by a barbecue or a fire.
Active tourists can fish, kayak, ride a bike or horse, play football, swim in a clean river and organise hiking excursions. Families with young children can stay at an agriculture farm with a playground or offering e. g. carriage rides. For children from big cities, it will be a great attraction to have contact with farm animals – to pet goats, feed rabbits, help bring cows from their pastures.
Gmina Goniądz is also open for tourists who can also try culinary specialties from the nearby water, fields and forests, including excellent fish dishes: the Biebrza crucian carps baked on sweet flag, perch broth, tench in cream, baked stuffed pike.
