Danuta Szklarzewska, traditional culinary
Danuta Szklarzewska lives in Łojki village in Grajewo commune. She makes traditional Polish cake called sękacz which can reach up to 50 cm. Its production is time consuming and can last up to 5 hours. The main ingredients include fresh eggs (from 30 to 50 eggs) which she collects from her own hens. Every other ingredient such as butter or margarine, cream, flour and flavouring also play an important role. The final effect should be a golden-coloured crust and a spongy cake inside.
