Vantage point on the trail Gugny-Barwik

There are two vantage points and an observation platform on the walking trail Gugny-Barwik. The path is approximately 9.5 km long and begins at the parking lot near the forester’s lodge which can be reached by turning left after passing Dobarz (traveling from Laskowiec). The platform, which is located approximately 1 km off the parking lot, can be used as an observation point of birds such as great snipes, jack snipes and common snipes. There are also information boards which describe the local flora and fauna. Following the trail, the vantage point on “Grądziku Występ” can be reached. This place offers a view of the entire swamp. It is a perfect place to see elk or deer and observe egrets or eagles. The rest of the trail to a vantage point at Gugny village is advised to be traveled with a licensed Biebrza National Park guide. Due to the lack of trees and characteristic points, this section is marked on poles and therefore not all tourists are able to find trail marks in time. It is also difficult to find poles in the sections which are full of shrubs and reeds. The tower in Gugny overlooks the vast wetlands and forest on the horizon. It is a perfect place to observe elks, cranes and birds of prey. The trail ends at “Carska Droga” at the bus stop.
